For the Love of Animals is published
by the Northeast Nebraska Humane Society, a private, non-profit
501 © 3 organization devoted to providing for the welfare
of animals and promoting the humane treatment of animals in northeast
Nebraska.
For the Love of Animals may be reprinted if the publication
in which the reprint appears is consistent with our newsletter's
intent and our Society's mission. All that we ask is that you
credit our newsletter and send us a copy of the reprinted materials.
Stories and articles for the newsletter are invited. Notes and
articles, and other submissions will be published as space allows.
For the Love of Animals reserves the right to edit articles, letters,
and notes. Your comments and suggestions about our newsletter
and our Humane Society are welcomed and much appreciated.
The Northeast Nebraska Humane Society operates a limited Animal
Shelter, which is located at a private residence one and one-half
miles south of Wayne on Hwy 15.
To see one of our adoptable dogs, please call and make an appointment
for a visit. Persons interested in an adoption are required to
complete an application and pay an adoption fee. All prospective
adopters are screened and references checked to make sure that
our animals go to good homes. It is understood that all dogs will
be neutered within 30 days of adoptions. Stray animals are accepted
based on our available space. To report a stray, citizens should
call the Wayne Police Department or the sheriff.
